[Hiring] Remote Inspection Technician @Oceaneering

Role Description

The Remote Inspection Technician will be required to fulfil various duties to meet the needs of Oceaneering, including but not limited to:

• Ensure that the workspace for remote visual inspection is suitable and distractions are minimized.
• Review the work pack provided by Oceaneering and/or the client to understand the scopes and raise any questions or issues.
• Read structural drawings, P&IDs, and line drawn pipe work ISO’s to identify equipment.
• Communicate any issues that could prevent or delay the timely delivery of the scope to Oceaneering.
• Complete all relevant administrative tasks on time, including time sheets, daily reports, and inspection reports.
• Liaise with the client’s appointed representative to ensure the work scope is clearly understood and carried out to satisfaction.
• Carry out remote visual inspections to identify defects for assessment by Engineers.
• Provide feedback on work scopes and systems for continuous improvement.
• Complete activities independently and impartially, reporting concerns to the Technical Manager and QHSE Manager.

• Participate in all relevant company safety procedures and pre-job planning.
• Report any hazardous defects in plant, equipment, and workplace without delay.
• Work safely and ensure tasks are risk assessed prior to commencing work.
• Report any incidents, near misses, or positive performances in accordance with company or client procedures.
• Co-operate with safety audits being conducted.
• Ensure company equipment is managed and maintained on site.
• Ensure all work complies with company and contract QHSE policies and procedures.
• Operate responsibly, considering environmental and social outcomes.
• Participate in incident investigations, identifying preventive and corrective actions.
• Attend HSE meetings and toolbox talks, contributing wherever possible.

Safety

• Ensure that safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to for a safe working environment.

Other

• Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
• Perform assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems.
• Eliminate waste and suggest environmentally friendly practices for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Vocational qualifications in Inspection, Engineering, or Technical disciplines.
• Five years relevant experience (preferred) in NDT, Inspection of offshore plant and equipment.
• Familiar with requirements of ISO/IEC 17020:2012.

Desired

• Working towards further or higher education qualification in an engineering or technical discipline (e.g., HNC/HND/BSc).
• API 510/570/579, ASME I/II code certification.
• UKAS RG2 Cat 4.
• Knowledge of HDR/Point Cloud.
