Role Description
This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of a hostel remotely. This role is perfect for someone who is organised, tech-savvy, and passionate about delivering excellent guest experiences — all while managing systems and staff remotely.
- Oversee daily hostel operations remotely
- Manage all online bookings (Hostelworld, booking.com, Airbnb, etc.)
- Verify guest payments through connected systems
- Coordinate with on-site staff for check-ins, check-outs, and housekeeping
- Communicate with guests before, during, and after their stay
- Track occupancy rates, income, and operations costs
- Work closely with the owner to improve processes and boost guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hotel or hostel management experience
- Proven experience in using the cloudbeds property management system (PMS)
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Familiarity with payment platforms such as Stripe, Paypal business, Xero, Square
- Ability to work independently and manage remote operations effectively
Requirements
- Preferred but not required: Experience managing both private rooms and dorm-style accommodations
- Background in budget travel or hostel operations
- Familiarity with the Australian hospitality market
- Experience in remote staff coordination
