Role Description
With a strong passion for delivering exceptional results through constant focus on improving and reimagining existing and future state operations, the Supervisor will ensure quality completion of assigned work in remittances, cash posting and reconciliation processes.
- Possess a strong passion for accountability, setting high standards and raising the bar to ensure patient accounts are reconciled accurately and timely.
- Committed to driving financial improvement, scalability, and process excellence in conjunction with management.
- Supervise accurate and timely payment posting activities received through various modes of transmission including but not limited to electronic remittance advice, lockbox, file transfer processes.
- Identify incomplete information necessary to post remittance and take necessary steps to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
- Conduct reviews of entries to proactively resolve any errors.
- Ensure all pending and variance items are resolved within designated time frames to meet month-end close process requirements.
- Independently identify areas of operational opportunity, prioritize using analysis and investigation, present recommendations, and drive implementation by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Assume responsibility for resolving team member escalations by working with multiple business partners ensuring consistent communication.
- Promptly escalate complex issues to appropriate stakeholders for resolution as needed.
- Report weekly to the Manager, Banking and Payment Posting and the Vice President, Post-bill Operations on all activity for the period.
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with Brault policies and procedures, applicable regulations, including HIPAA and Labor regulations.
- Attend all meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills as demonstrated by meeting established priority timelines, and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and distinguish between important and urgent tasks.
- Proactive and solution-oriented with a proven track record of process improvements in revenue cycle.
- Knowledge of conflict management and resolution; actively contributing to the morale and teamwork of the staff.
- Effective communication with team members, management, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Thorough knowledge of the tools, techniques, and terminology of healthcare billing operations.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and receivables management.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer policies.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, handle pressure, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and processes quickly and invested in personal and professional development.
- Remote work will require a home office setup; internet and cellular connectivity will be required.
Requirements
- Associates degree from an accredited university, preferred or 3-5 years equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years supervising more than 5 employees.
- Experience with healthcare billing software, electronic health records (EMR), and revenue cycle management software required; Athena IDX or GE Centricity preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills.
