[Hiring] Regional EHS Manager @Owens Corning

Role Description

The Doors Regional Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for driving site culture and corporate strategic guidance with an unconditional stance on safety and environmental compliance. The Regional EHS Manager will assist assigned locations with all aspects in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Serious Injury or Fatality (SIF) and critical safety programs along with other Health and Environmental processes/programs/procedures to achieve and maintain a zero-injury environment in full compliance with regulatory requirements. Key objectives will include:

• Identifying, eliminating, and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage.
• Using and applying safety standards, best practices, and analytical techniques along with behavior-based safety programs.
• Providing leadership, guidance, and applying technical abilities to engage both employees and site leadership at all levels of the organization.
• Acting as the primary subject matter resource for assigned locations and being accountable for delivering the Doors strategic safety and environmental strategy.
• Conducting formal risk assessments and developing control measures to mitigate identified risks.
• Assisting/conducting timely and thorough EHS incident investigations including matters of workers’ compensation.
• Providing support to all assigned locations with respect to EHS compliance, leading corporate training and program development.
• Developing and updating Critical Safety Foundations and SIF Programs.
• Championing the development and continued education of site leadership and site EHS staff.
• Coaching, mentoring, and re-directing site leadership to encourage prioritization and stewardship of EHS goals.
• Participating in Kaizen events, Lean Daily Management, and other similar processes.
• Driving ergonomics initiatives to reduce MSD illnesses/injuries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any field related to EH&S, such as Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience leading EHS efforts in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Experience managing multiple facilities is preferred.
• CSP certification preferred.
• Willingness to travel.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish required.

Requirements

• Experience implementing EHS programs in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) standards, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and/or State regulations.
• Experience in the development and delivery of EHS related training.

Benefits

• This is a full-time position requiring weekday (Monday - Friday) work remotely.
• This position will require up to 50% domestic travel and international travel (5%).
• Must live near a large airport and preference to near an existing Doors plant.
