Role Description

As an Entry Into Service Recovery Worker, you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking support, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and person-centred approach. You will play a key role in engaging new service users, carrying out initial assessments, personalising assessments, and supporting individuals to access appropriate treatment and recovery teams in both the Barnet and satellite services.

• Act as the first point of contact for new referrals into the service.
• Providing screening, assessments and onward referrals.
• Assessment of need including current drug use, drug history, physical and mental health, social situation, and risk assessment.
• Conduct initial screenings and assessments to identify needs and risks, providing harm reduction and recovery-focused interventions and advice.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field.
• Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with good IT skills.
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills.
• Good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
• Supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users.
• Understanding of the importance of information governance processes and commitment to follow and apply all necessary safeguards.
• Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden professional knowledge and skills and contribute to the learning and development of others.
• Ability to work with and manage challenging behaviour.
• Availability to work weekends and evenings.

Requirements

• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (including weekend and evening work).
