[Hiring] Purchasing Specialist @Penbrothers

Role Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Purchasing Specialist to manage sourcing, procurement, and supplier coordination. This role plays a critical part in maintaining smooth operations by ensuring timely purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery.

• Process and manage purchase orders from entry to delivery with accuracy and timeliness
• Coordinate with suppliers to place orders, track status, and ensure on-time delivery
• Expedite shipments and resolve issues such as delays and pricing discrepancies
• Review inventory, forecasts, and demand data to support purchasing decisions
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing, and supplier information in company systems
• Create and analyze planning and forecasting reports in Excel (e.g., lead times, reorder needs)
• Collaborate with sales and internal teams to support customer requirements
• Work with an existing supplier base (US and Canada) to fulfill purchasing needs
• Support sourcing and supplier coordination as you grow in the role
• Adhere to company policies, including Health, Safety, and Quality Assurance standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred; a combination of education, skills, and relevant experience will be considered
• At least 3 years of experience in sourcing or purchasing, preferably within the fastener or manufacturing industry
• Experience using Prophet 21 or similar ERP systems is highly preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookups, data analysis, and pivot tables
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability in handling changes, delays, and unexpected challenges
• Strong organizational and data management skills
