Job Summary The Provider Contracting Analyst develops and maintains a provider network, including but not limited to, specialists, ancillary, hospital, and home health providers across the country. Works with internal and external provider servicing departments to meet market growth and medical cost targets, duties, and responsibilities within the Commercial and Government business. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for coordinating the process of contracting for Growth teams involving high profile provider groups and/or physician groups Negotiate best possible discount in provider contracts Ensure accurate and timely contract loading and updates of professional and facility contracts across value based and fee for service agreements for provider solutions Manages network by developing relationships to drive business results. Supports (and manages when necessary) provider onboarding process and provider updates Performs internal audit of provider record, ensuring accuracy against rosters. Collects complete credentialing information during the contracting process Serves as the go-to provider partners to resolve interpretation issues and ensure timely turnaround Maintains provider demographic data and contract updates including internal audits of provider records, ensuring accuracy. Creates provider performance reports as well as presentations Assist in creating provider communications, manuals and/ or guides as well as monthly and quarterly provider reports as needed Works closely with Provider Network team and other departments to main open line of communication Communicates trends to administration Maintains compliance with departmental policies and procedures and applies HIPAA and PHI regulations effectively Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements concerning Medicare Uses systems and resources in an efficient and effective manner and serves as a SME in contracting systems Provides exceptional service to external customers, including payors Handles office tasks, such as filing and setting up for meetings, make travel arrangements, such as booking flights, cars, and making hotel and restaurant reservations Performs other assigned duties and special projects on an as needed basis Implements change in a constructive and beneficial manner. Critical Results Increase Network footprint year over year. Negotiate Increase in Network Savings year over year. Support annual contracting compliance activities and complete at least one process improvement annually Best Practices Ensure contracts are submitted in a timely manner Provider is ready for on-boarding including warm handoff to the Provider Success Team Maintain provider demographics in multiple systems accurate and consistent Support Provider terminations accordingly for all health plans and ACO Maintain contract information organized in Contract Logix, Salesforce and any other required locations Create weekly work plans to coincide with timelines and Network Strategy Review contract effective dates and support renewal of Provider Contracts Education & Experience 5+ years of Provider Contracting and Network Development Experience Minimum 3 years of management experience preferred Education Requirements Required/Preferred Education Level Discipline Required Undergraduate Degree Relevant field required Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies Extensive knowledge with managed care, ACO and value-based models Adapts to and demonstrates multi-tasking skills when dealing with frequent changes in an evolving work environment Must possess critical thinking skills, have a proven strong eye for detail and a focus on quality. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality processes within and outside of the department Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Products: Outlook, Word, Excel. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Promotes a positive and cooperative attitude Strong leadership and ability to delegate and provide direction Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints from associates and clients. Ability to speak clearly and to make effective and persuasive arguments and presentations. Physical Requirements This position works under usual office conditions. The associate is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
