[Hiring] Protocol Intelligence Lead @WCG Clinical

Role Description

The Senior Director, Clinical Trial (CT) Document Authoring & Insights leads a team at the forefront of the definition, development, and market introduction of WCG's next generation of clinical trial document authoring and analytics capabilities. This position operates with a high degree of autonomy in an ambitious, fast-moving environment.

• Serves as the organization's authority on clinical trial protocols and associated study documents.
• Defines the problem set: maps current-state authoring and reviews workflows across sponsors, CROs, and sites.
• Establishes the quality standards, evaluation criteria, and benchmarks for new authoring and insights capabilities.
• Develops the intellectual foundation of the offering, including frameworks and reusable content assets.
• Translates client needs and insights into actionable recommendations.
• Leads teams of subject matter experts to execute on clinical trial document authoring and protocol optimization consulting outputs.
• Partners with Product Management and Engineering throughout the development lifecycle.
• Structures and drives workstreams to completion independently.
• Builds prototypes, models, and proof-of-concept deliverables directly.
• Designs and executes pilots with internal experts and external clients.
• Monitors developments in clinical trial design and assesses their implications for the roadmap.
• Partners with Business Development to shape positioning and participate directly in client discussions.
• Leads and develops a team of domain and analytical professionals.
• Represents WCG at industry conferences, webinars, and podcasts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher is required.
• Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, MS, MPH, or MBA) preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or a similarly complex, regulated industry.
• At least 3 years in a leadership, product, or engagement-leadership capacity.
• Direct experience with clinical trial protocols and study documentation preferred.
• Demonstrated record of building something new in an environment with limited precedent.
• Experience operating effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
• Strong structured problem-solving and hypothesis-driven analytical skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Hands-on orientation with a willingness to build the first version personally.
• Working knowledge of applied artificial intelligence and large language models preferred.
• Familiarity with FDA regulations, ICH-GCP, and industry data standards.
• Sound judgment in setting priorities and managing multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Requirements

• Current PMP, CSPO, ACRP/SOCRA, or RAC certification(s) preferred.
• Travel requirements: 5% - 10%.
