[Hiring] Property Large Loss Adjuster @Mercury Insurance Services, LLC

3d ago - Mercury Insurance Services, LLC is hiring a remote Property Large Loss Adjuster. 💸 Salary: usd 77,283 - 179,048 per year 📍Location: USA

Role Description

Join an amazing team that is consistently recognized for our achievements and culture, including our most recent Forbes award of being one of America's Best Midsize Employers for 2026!

Mercury Insurance’s Property Large Loss Adjusters are trusted experts who show up for policyholders during some of the most challenging moments of their lives — bringing deep expertise, empathy, and decisive action to complex property claims. In this senior-level remote and field-based role you will operate with a high degree of independence to investigate, evaluate, and resolve sophisticated homeowner and potentially commercial property claims, making a meaningful impact on both the customer experience and the integrity of Mercury’s claims operation. If you are a seasoned property claims professional who thrives on complexity, values autonomy, and is energized by the opportunity to lead from the field, this is the role for you.

As a Property Large Loss Adjuster, typical losses are in excess of $250,000, and you will travel to our customer’s homes or commercial properties to conduct onsite inspections. This role requires advanced property claims coverage knowledge, claims investigations, scope and estimate development, vendor coordination, reserve management, and negotiation skills to settle claims promptly and efficiently to ensure our customers receive the highest level of support and resolution.

Our Property Large Loss Adjusters also use virtual inspection and collaboration technology and software such as Xactimate, ClaimX Video collaboration, and other tools when appropriate. Our large loss property adjuster may also provide technical guidance, file direction, or support to less experienced team members.

Team members are expected to embrace technology to enhance performance, adapt to changing environments, and approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant related experience.
  • Minimum of 7 or more years of successful property claims handling experience investigating, estimating, negotiating, and resolving high-severity property claims.
  • Prior field adjusting experience involving on-site inspections and detailed estimate writing.
  • Experience handling losses involving multiple trades, substantial structural damage, ALE, contents, represented files, appraisal, litigation, subrogation or salvage considerations.
  • Experience coordinating and interpreting expert reports, including structural engineering plans, architectural drawings, and other technical claim documentation.
  • Experience working directly for an insurance carrier, independent adjusting firm, or similar property claims organization in a large-loss capacity.
  • Prior commercial claims handling preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • As a condition of employment hold and maintain required state adjuster licensing as applicable.
  • Hold and maintain all required continuing education and adjuster licensing compliance.
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets Company standards.
  • Industry designations or certifications such as AIC, CPCU, SCLA, IICRC, or similar credentials relevant to property claims, estimating, or restoration preferred.
  • Level 2 or Above Xactimate Certification preferred.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States for most positions
  • Paid time off (vacation time, sick time, 9 paid Company holidays, volunteer hours)
  • Incentive bonus programs (potential for holiday bonus, referral bonus, and performance-based bonus)
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance
  • 401 (k) retirement savings plan with company match
  • Engaging work environment
  • Promotional opportunities
  • Education assistance
  • Professional and personal development opportunities
  • Company recognition program
