Role Description
Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts is seeking to hire a postdoctoral research associate with strong research interests and competency in investigating the social determinants of health with a focus on cognitive decline/dementia.
- Emphasis on the application of epidemiologic, econometric, and other methods to strengthen causal inference using multilevel, longitudinal data and quasi-experimental approaches.
- Exploration of gender, racial/ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities.
- Join an interdisciplinary team of researchers including social epidemiologists, other epidemiologists, data scientists, and policy researchers.
- Involved in all aspects of the research process.
- Opportunities to analyze rich datasets for publications.
- Develop and write research proposals and publications.
- Participate in academic mentorship of graduate students.
- Disseminate research findings at professional conferences.
- Access career development resources through Northeastern University and the Greater Boston area.
- Coordinate ongoing research projects and initiate independent research projects.
- Participate in project team meetings and other seminars.
- Actively engage in the progress of research.
This position is a fully remote opportunity with no requirement of an on-campus presence.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, public health, health economics, or a related field.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Experience in advanced epidemiologic methods and/or econometric methods to strengthen causal inference is strongly preferred.
