Role Description
South College is inviting applications for the remote position of Adjunct faculty for the didactic portion of the Phlebotomy program. This role involves teaching online asynchronous courses. The ideal candidate will be innovative and utilize diverse instructional methods to effectively engage students with different learning styles.
- Effectively conducts online lectures.
- Be available to hold office hours and dedicate time to meet students' needs and questions, ensuring prompt and efficient responses.
- Capable of providing engaging weekly recorded lectures for students, ensuring that content is accessible and aligned with course objectives.
- Keeping students informed of their progress by promptly grading assignments, projects, skill assessments, competency evaluations, and other tasks.
- Facilitating student connections with relevant campus and community resources.
- Aiding and supporting the program director with student retention and reports.
- Experience in LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, etc.).
Qualifications
- Candidates must hold at least an Associate's degree or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Current Phlebotomy certification and CPR certification required; additional medical assisting certification preferred.
- Understanding educational theory and techniques.
- Previous experience teaching in a phlebotomy or medical assisting program and/or working as a phlebotomist or medical assistant.
- Evidence of strong skills with technology and the use of technology in instruction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to student success and an inclusive learning environment.
