As the Part-Time Regional Waste Management and Diversion Education and Outreach Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable practices across the CRCOG region. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing innovative educational programs focused on recycling, food waste management, and organic material diversion.
• Creating engaging content in various formats, ranging from print materials to web-based resources and videos.
• Providing support for educational initiatives across schools, municipalities, and communities.
• Coordinating impactful outreach events.
• Building strong partnerships with stakeholders from government, education, and private sectors.
• Researching industry trends to identify opportunities for program improvements and potential cost savings.

Qualifications

• Strong background in municipal and state government waste management, recycling, and organic material programs.
• Experience in educational settings for effectively delivering content to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in program management, particularly concerning municipal budgets, grant management, and solid waste initiatives.
• Strong skills in drafting educational content across various media, such as hard copy, web-based platforms, video, and social media.
• Ability to research and summarize current best practices in waste management, focusing on food waste and organic materials.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with public members, municipal entities, educational institutions, and communities, particularly in K-12 settings.

Requirements

• Municipal and/or state government waste management recycling and/or organic material programs and services, especially experience in an educational setting.
• Program management and budgets, especially those related to municipal government grant management and solid waste management recycling and diversion initiatives.
• Drafting educational content using various forms of media, including hard copy, web-based content, video (YouTube), and/or social media.
• Researching and summarizing current and best practices in waste management, recycling, and diversion, especially related to food waste/rescue and organic materials.
• Communicating with various members of the public, municipal government, educational institutions, and the communities they serve, especially K-12.
