[Hiring] Parents Network Manager @Parents Together Foundation

2wks ago - Parents Together Foundation is hiring a remote Parents Network Manager. 💸 Salary: usd 95,000 - 110,000 per year 📍Location: USA

Role Description

ParentsTogether is seeking a compassionate, experienced professional to lead and support The Parents Network (TPN), a community of both bereaved and impacted survivor parents, whose children were harmed by social media, artificial intelligence, and big tech companies. This critical role requires a talented, empathetic individual who can support and empower parents experiencing significant trauma and channel their experiences into meaningful advocacy for policy change and corporate accountability. The Parents Network Manager will oversee TPN, including managing contractors, managing relationships with partners and funders, and building out a new advocacy program for survivor parents.

As an impact media organization, ParentsTogether centers parent voices in our content, campaigns, and culture-shaping work. This role plays a critical part in helping parents share their stories to drive narrative and policy change, and the successful candidate will bring exceptional emotional intelligence, a deep commitment to survivor-centered advocacy, and a passion for reaching across lines of geography, culture, and ideology to build a broad, durable majority of parents in support of a safer, more accountable, and pro-social future.

The Parents Network Manager reports to the Director of Online Safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee The Parents Network program, including managing contractors, ensuring the program is meeting goals, and community needs are being met.
  • Oversee relationship management with TPN parents, including supporting new community member intake, conducting regular individual and group check-ins, and responding to community needs as they arise.
  • Ensure parent members utilize the provided mental health resources, grief counseling, peer support groups, and other supportive services of TPN.
  • Manage relationships with partner organizations, funders, and other key online safety movement shareholders.
  • Create and maintain a trauma-informed, culturally responsive support infrastructure that honors parents' experiences and needs, and recognizes signs of crisis or declining mental health and coordinates appropriate interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with parent members and online safety movement partner organizations to build and implement an advocacy training program.
  • Coordinate parent member participation in advocacy opportunities with partner organizations, including meetings with policymakers, direct advocacy to tech companies, and other opportunities.
  • Prepare parents for media interviews, public speaking, and congressional testimony with trauma-informed coaching.
  • Collaborate with communications, policy, and campaigns teams to ensure parent voices are centered in organizational strategy and reflected in compelling, culturally resonant content across our media platforms.
  • Partner with the content and communication teams to identify, develop, and support parent stories for digital content, earned media, and narrative campaigns designed to reach and engage parents beyond traditional advocacy audiences.
  • Support and implement a comms strategy that tells the story of TPN through earned media, including conducting interviews.
  • Track and manage all TPN data and metrics.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience working directly with impacted communities or individuals experiencing trauma in advocacy, organizing, or social services settings.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field (social work, psychology, sociology, etc.) or commensurate experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed practices and working with individuals experiencing trauma, grief, or crisis.
  • Campaign or advocacy experience, including policy advocacy, corporate accountability work, and/or grassroots organizing.
  • Experience facilitating support groups or peer networks for individuals with shared experiences of trauma.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on active listening and empathy.
  • Commitment to centering survivor voices and practicing survivor-led advocacy principles.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities simultaneously.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to crisis situations and changing parent needs.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-racism principles in all aspects of the work.
  • Experience communicating across differences and engaging audiences with diverse cultural, political, or lived experience is a plus.
