Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Operations Excellence Manager specializing in data engineering and Google Cloud technologies to drive operational efficiency through data-driven solutions and cloud infrastructure optimization. This role combines operational excellence methodologies with technical expertise to transform our data operations and cloud infrastructure.
- Design and implement data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, particularly BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes for data integration across multiple sources
- Optimize data warehouse architecture and performance using BigQuery best practices
- Implement data validation and quality control processes
- Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies
- Develop and track KPIs to measure operational performance
- Create automated workflows to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency
- Design and implement data governance frameworks
- Guide cross-functional teams in adopting data-driven decision-making processes
- Train and mentor team members on data engineering best practices and GCP tools
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process automation and improvement
- Lead change management initiatives for new data systems and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar role
- Strong proficiency in data engineering tools and practices
- Experience with Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks
- Proven track record in implementing ETL/ELT pipelines
- Knowledge of data modeling and warehouse architecture
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies
- Experience in implementing operational excellence frameworks
- Strong background in process optimization and automation
