Role Description

As an Observability Platform Specialist, you will serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise observability, driving monitoring, performance engineering, and reliability initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments. You will design, implement, and continuously optimize Dynatrace-based observability solutions that provide actionable insights into applications, infrastructure, and business services.

In this role, you will work closely with Development, Infrastructure, Cloud, SRE, and Operations teams to embed observability practices throughout the software development lifecycle. You will also play a key role in platform governance, cost optimization, automation, and operational excellence, ensuring scalable and efficient monitoring solutions that support business objectives.

Responsibilities & Scope

• Design, deploy, and administer Dynatrace SaaS across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Configure and manage OneAgent, ActiveGate, dashboards, alerting profiles, and Davis AI capabilities.
• Develop and optimize DQL queries, dashboards, and observability standards aligned with technical and business KPIs.
• Monitor platform adoption, query efficiency, and DDU consumption while driving cost optimization initiatives.
• Implement and govern metrics, logs, traces, and OpenTelemetry integrations.
• Partner with Development, QA, Infrastructure, and SRE teams to embed observability into the SDLC.
• Support incident response and root cause analysis through distributed tracing and performance analytics.
• Integrate Dynatrace with CI/CD pipelines, ServiceNow, Jira, and other enterprise platforms.
• Define and enforce onboarding standards, tagging strategies, access controls, and platform governance.
• Deliver reporting and insights on platform health, reliability metrics, and observability maturity.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates strong expertise in observability platforms, application performance monitoring, distributed tracing, and cloud-native monitoring, delivering actionable insights across complex environments.
• Applies a data-driven and analytical mindset, proactively identifying performance bottlenecks, reliability risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Collaborates effectively with development, SRE, cloud, infrastructure, and business teams, fostering alignment and driving operational excellence.
• Takes ownership of platform governance, monitoring standards, automation, and cost optimization, ensuring scalable and sustainable observability practices.
• Embraces continuous learning, innovation, and reliability engineering principles, leveraging modern observability technologies to enhance system performance and business outcomes.
