Role Description

A mortgage company is hiring a Non-QM Underwriter Team Lead. This role is for someone who already has experience leading underwriters in a wholesale or TPO Non-QM environment. This is not a training role. The right candidate must bring strong Non-QM underwriting knowledge and be able to:

• Handle escalations
• Complete second-level reviews
• Train new hires
• Assist with interviews
• Maintain a light underwriting pipeline

Qualifications

• Experience as a Team Lead Underwriter in a wholesale or TPO Non-QM environment required
• Strong Non-QM underwriting knowledge required
• Wholesale underwriting experience required
• Experience training Non-QM underwriting hires required
• Experience completing second-level reviews required
• Experience handling Non-QM file escalations required
• Ability to serve as a Non-QM subject matter expert required
• Ability to maintain a light underwriting pipeline while supporting team lead responsibilities
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box
• No large employment gaps
