[Hiring] National Consultant for Capacity Building in Communication and Branding @UN Women

Role Description

UN Women Moldova seeks a national consultant or a team of consultants to provide capacity building on strategic communication and social media, public speaking and media presence, and personal branding. The consultant is expected to deliver at least 6 training courses tailored for:

• women MPs
• women mayors
• women in executive (senior and middle management)
• aspiring women candidates under the pre-electoral track
• women in security and peace-making
• women in management positions in the private sector (banks, private companies, and business/commercial-oriented NGOs)

The developed methodology will contain topics related to:

• strategic communication and message development
• political communication
• public speaking and media presence (including media interview simulations)
• social media strategy and content creation
• personal branding for women in public life
• digital literacy
• dealing with online harassment and hostile communication environments

The implementation of the tasks will require close collaboration with the UN Women team and the team of consultants, reporting to the corresponding thematic pillar leads and support, and the Project Analyst.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Political Science, or other related field is required.
• A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• Certification in media training, communication coaching, or facilitation would be an asset.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of proven experience in designing and delivering methodologies and training programmes on strategic communication, political and public communication, public speaking and/or media training, particularly for public figures, senior officials or women in public leadership roles and/or women in management positions in the private sector.
• Experience in social media strategy, digital content creation and personal branding, including hands-on coaching of leaders on their digital presence.
• Experience in developing curricula, facilitation guides and interactive methodologies (media simulations, video exercises) for executive-level or senior public officials is an advantage.
• Experience addressing online harassment, hate speech and hostile communication targeting women in public life is an advantage.
• Experience working with parliaments, governments, local authorities, or international organizations, including the UN, is an advantage.
• Fluency in Romanian and English is required.
• Knowledge of any other UN official language is an asset.

• No travel is envisaged; in case of unforeseeable travel, payment of travel costs will be agreed upon with UN Women prior to travel.
