Role Description
Supports the MiddCORE Summer LAB by leading virtual professional engagement initiatives to enhance participant connection and industry insight.
- Leads an industry-specific Slack Channel, engaging current participants in professional discussion.
- Collaborates with a co-lead to develop a “Demystifying the Industry” guide for students.
- Hosts two Virtual Coffee Chats with MiddCORE participants to share professional experience and guidance.
- Participates in four synchronous check-in meetings with the MiddCORE team.
- Adheres to MiddCORE Slack Channel Guidelines and contributes to a respectful, inclusive environment.
- Coordinates with MiddCORE staff to schedule sessions and facilitate student engagement.
- Utilizes facilitation guides provided by the program to support group sessions.
- Contributes to fostering a strong, connected MiddCORE community of alumni and current students.
Qualifications
- Former participant or alumni of the MiddCORE program.
- Enthusiastic about mentorship and peer guidance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Comfort with remote/virtual platforms including Slack and Zoom.
- Ability to manage independent scheduling (e.g., Calendly for meetings).
- Interest in sharing industry knowledge and career insights.
- Professionalism and reliability in a remote work setting.
- Availability for 2–3 hours per week over the summer.
Requirements
- Fully remote position.
- Requires access to a computer, internet connection, and communication tools.
- Flexible hours with occasional synchronous virtual meetings.
Hour Limitations
- All student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on-campus jobs during the academic year (this includes exam periods).
- The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session (February recess, Spring recess, and full weeks of December or summer recess), during which students can work up to 40 hours per week.
- International Students: Visa restrictions prohibit international students from exceeding 20 hours of work per academic calendar week.
