Role Description

In this role, you will:

  • Production Readiness Management
    • Serve as the primary owner for production readiness across multiple manufacturing operations and production lines.
    • Continuously assess the alignment between production schedules, procurement plans, inventory levels, and supplier commitments.
    • Identify potential gaps in material availability and escalate risks before they impact manufacturing schedules.
    • Lead cross-functional readiness reviews to ensure all required materials are available to support upcoming production plans.
  • Materials Planning & Inventory Coordination
    • Monitor inventory levels, material consumption, and replenishment plans to support production requirements.
    • Validate material availability against future production schedules and demand forecasts.
    • Work closely with procurement, operations, and suppliers to resolve shortages and mitigate supply chain disruptions.
    • Develop contingency plans when inventory or supplier constraints threaten production commitments.
  • Scheduling & Supplier Coordination
    • Support management of the production schedule and ensure alignment with material supply requirements.
    • Coordinate production-related requirements with external suppliers and contract manufacturing partners.
    • Monitor supplier lead times, production capacity, and delivery performance.
    • Ensure schedule changes are communicated effectively throughout the supply chain network.
  • Change Management & Issue Resolution
    • Own change log management for production schedule modifications and material planning adjustments.
    • Investigate schedule disruptions, supply shortages, and operational bottlenecks.
    • Facilitate resolution of critical production issues by coordinating efforts across planning, procurement, operations, and supplier teams.
    • Drive accountability among stakeholders to ensure risks and action items are resolved promptly.
  • Capacity & Risk Management
    • Evaluate supplier and operational capacity to support future production requirements.
    • Identify bottlenecks across material sourcing, printing, labeling, packaging, and production processes.
    • Track and report production readiness metrics, inventory risks, and service-level performance.
    • Develop proactive mitigation strategies to address emerging supply chain challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Analyze planning and supply chain processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop reporting tools, dashboards, and tracking mechanisms to improve production visibility.
    • Drive process improvements that increase responsiveness, reduce shortages, and improve schedule reliability.
    • Support manufacturing expansion initiatives, production ramp-ups, and operational scaling efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in materials management, production planning, supply chain operations, scheduling, inventory management, or manufacturing operations.
  • Proven experience managing complex production schedules and material requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory planning, procurement processes, and production operations.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, modeling, reporting, and problem-solving.
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and drive resolution across multiple functions.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing, packaging, consumer products, food and beverage, or industrial production environments.
  • Experience working with external suppliers and contract manufacturing partners.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent supply chain certification.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Consulting experience leading operational improvement initiatives.
