Role Description

Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions (CPS) Division is currently seeking a Master Field Service Electronics Technician to join our team of world-class customer service professionals. This position is based in the greater Columbus, OH area. This is a remote position based from a home office with daily travel to customer sites and occasional overnight stays. Company vehicle provided.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an electrical or engineering discipline or equivalent military experience.
• Five (5) or more years of experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining UPS systems, battery technologies, power electronics, or related electrical power equipment.
• Five (5) or more years of experience working with 480V three-phase electrical systems.
• Experience with direct internal and external customer interaction; verbal and written communication.
• Experience leading projects, mentoring technicians, or serving as a technical lead on customer engagements.
• This role is designated as a Regular Driver per Eaton’s Driver Safety Policy and requires a current, unrestricted driver’s license along with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
• Must undergo and pass customer entrance requirements as needed, which may include, but is not limited to, periodic background checks and drug screenings.
• Daily travel to customer sites is required, utilizing an Eaton-provided fleet vehicle.
• Provide support for customer needs outside the immediate region within the USA for a minimum of three (3) weeks per quarter.
• Must perform physical tasks as needed, including assisted lifting/carrying 50+ lbs., pushing/pulling, standing for extended periods, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling, and driving long distances.

Requirements

• Ten or more years’ experience working with UPSs, battery technologies and electronics.
• Proven understanding of the entire system including bypass panels, PDUs, and static switches.
• Experience working as a field service technician.
• Ability to read electrical component schematic drawings and apply troubleshooting, testing, and repair techniques.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory and battery systems.
• Strictly follow company/customer safety rules for a secure work environment.
• Collaborate with other Field Service Technicians, taking direction from the lead technician on-site.
