[Hiring] Market Operations Associate @Rothera

Role Description

The Live Events Associate is responsible for monitoring markets related to high-profile events across sports, politics, economics, digital assets, and more. This position presents an opportunity to rapidly learn about market structure, regulated exchanges and clearinghouses, and event contracts from the front lines in a customer-facing role.

• Use Rothera’s proprietary tools to record and track event outcomes.
• Maintain fair and orderly markets, protecting the integrity of Rothera’s tradeable products.
• Engage directly with Rothera’s engineers, product managers, and executive leaders to resolve mission-critical questions and issues.
• Exhibit high aptitude and adaptiveness, with a strong motivation to learn.
• Take initiative to understand the nuances of real-world events and related contracts.
• Face time-sensitive, unstructured challenges in high-visibility situations.
• Execute a high volume of routine settlement processes and research emergent anomalies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Initiative to delve beyond surface-level answers and continuously cultivate subject matter expertise.
• Disciplined attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to quickly acquire new concepts and ideas.
• Availability and commitment to flexibly accommodate an event-driven work schedule and an on-call environment.
• Significant desire to learn and contribute in a rapidly evolving environment with a strong sense of curiosity and commitment to customer service.

Requirements

• 1 - 2 years of experience in an institutional trading environment or a detail-driven startup environment (desired, but not required).
• Some professional exposure to, or familiarity with, electronic trading, exchanges (desired, but not required).
• Python programming experience, e.g., composition of simple scripts to automate manual processes or assist with routine assignments (desired, but not required).
• Some ability to query large datasets and analyze query results (desired, but not required).
