[Hiring] Localization Operations Specialist @Betby

Role Description

We're looking for a Localization Operations Specialist to join our localization team and help scale the function as we grow. This role isn't about translation; it’s about running localization operations day-to-day and keeping 37 languages release-ready across our B2B sports betting platform.

You'll be the second person on the localization team, working alongside the Product Localization Manager to run operations. The work covers the full process, from source string intake, through coordinating with our LSP, to in-product QA.

We're looking for someone with solid localization fundamentals who's also comfortable with the technical side. Think understanding JSON structure, release cycles, and being able to navigate GitLab. You don't need to be an engineer, but you shouldn't be blocked by technical context either. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, QA, and operations to make sure the platform works for local markets.

• Manage localization delivery across UI, sportsbook content, and system messages in 37 languages and resolve localization issues as they come up.
• Collaborate with our LSP across the full localization delivery cycle: create project orders, prepare linguist instructions, manage communication, review deliveries, run LQA, and provide structured feedback.
• Coordinate end-to-end localization production across translation, review, implementation, and release readiness.
• Manage and optimize translation workflows in our TMS.
• Set up and maintain product-specific glossaries, style guides, and terminology consistency.
• Run localization QA: linguistic testing, UI fit, and consistency across languages; fix translation bugs.
• Collaborate with operational teams (support, customer success, local market teams) to feed market insights back into product localization.
• Support workflow automation and process improvements.
• Create and maintain localization documentation for internal and external use.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing localization workflows for product, software, or web content.
• Hands-on daily experience with localization management systems or CAT tools.
• Experience supporting multilingual releases across multiple locales or products at scale.
• Experience working with language service providers: briefing, LQA, escalation, feedback cycles.
• Professional fluency in English, with attention to detail: able to spot inconsistencies, awkward phrasing, and errors in source content before it goes for translation.
• Fluency in at least one language other than English, or a solid understanding of linguistic complexity (grammar, scripts, text directionality) across several languages.
• Comfortable with translation file formats (JSON, XLIFF) and basic version control concepts – you understand what a merge request is and can communicate effectively with developers.
• Not afraid of technical context: you can figure things out, ask the right questions, and pick up tools as needed.
• Comfortable working in evolving processes. We’re actively scaling the localization function, not maintaining a finished one.

Requirements

• Any of the following would be a plus:
• Experience in the betting or iGaming industry.
• Experience migrating between TMS platforms.
• Scripting or technical tooling experience to automate repetitive tasks.
• Previous copy-editing or copywriting experience.
• Additional languages.
