[Hiring] Lead Epic Hospital Billing Analyst @UChicago Medicine

Role Description

Join one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine, as a Lead Epic Hospital Billing Analyst for the IT Clinical Applications department. This is a remote, work from home opportunity, and you may be based outside of the greater Chicagoland area.

• Instruct, prioritize, and quality check the work of other HB business systems/application analysts.
• Formulate and define systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business applications and industry requirements.
• Design and modify application configuration and code to solve complex problems considering technology and business needs.
• Analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and translate into proper system requirements specifications.
• Possess full technical knowledge of most phases of system analysis while considering the business implications of technology.
• Act as a team leader for projects with a moderate budget or of a short to intermediate duration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant certification in healthcare, business management or information systems.
• Epic Hospital Billing certification.
• Effective project management and team leadership skills.
• Demonstrated expertise within a specialized area of information systems software implementation and operational management.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and assess work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of working well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and successfully interacting with others at all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to manage multiple requests, tasks, and requirements.
• Proven skills in problem solving.
• Experience in business process mapping.
• Experience defining requirements and software development methodologies.
• Ability to correlate between business, functional, and technical requirements.
• Solid interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and effective presentation skills.
• Experience developing presentations for project work.
• Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with diverse participants.
• Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor in both normal and pressure situations.
• Minimal of 10 years of management experience with application configuration.

Requirements

• Epic Charge Router Certification (Preferred).
• Epic Hospital Billing Claims and Remittance Certification (Preferred).
• Epic Hospital Billing Charging Certification (Preferred).
• Epic Home Health Revenue Cycle Certification (Preferred).
• Epic Hospice Revenue Cycle Certification (Preferred).
• Healthcare-focused operational experience in business or clinical operations, Healthcare research or Healthcare teaching desired (Preferred).

• The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis.
• Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations.
• Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
