Role Description

The Lead EIT Installation Design Engineer - FPSO E-House for the multi-disciplined engineering team within global system engineering organization will execute technical projects of world class power conversion and automation/control to ensure the design meets customer, budget, schedule, contract, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership on projects for FPSO E-House business.
  • Lead and coordinate design teams to meet project objectives (quality, cost, delivery).
  • Provide technical guidance and advice to the customer.
  • Identify and implement improvements on processes, tools, and system solutions.
  • Execute design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles.
  • Manage engineering deliverables: supervision of quality documents, On Time Delivery as per project schedule.
  • Close engineering deliverables customer comments, including disputed items within the review cycle.
  • Plan and progress all EIT installation design, installation design validation, and monitoring document flow.
  • Document revision control, cross-checking between all related documents (Load List, Panel drawings, etc.).
  • Provide technical support resolving clashes and design errors at site.
  • Specialise in Cable Management, from design phase to termination phase.
  • Lead 3D model review and closing out comments for EIT Discipline.
  • Produce design drawings, specifications, and documentation for EIT systems and supporting equipment.
  • Review technical drawings, documents, and electrical schematics for compliance and functionality.
  • Manage overall E-house layout and equipment GA tracking of both GE and customer.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary engineering interface between Customer, GE, Module Fabricator, and Sub-suppliers.
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Ensure project system designs comply with relevant health & safety and applicable International standards.
  • Liaise with other GE businesses, sub-contractors, and suppliers as appropriate.
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project.
  • Communicate timely on significant issues or developments.
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects.
  • Collaborate across functions including Sales and ComOps for sales support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college/university in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a similar site-based role within FPSO, offshore oil and gas, and/or marine sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in offshore marine industry, especially FPSO E-houses.
  • Proficient in using Autocad, Navisworks, E3D, and S3D design tools.
  • Ability to read and write technical specifications.
  • Excellence in Customer Service.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.

Requirements

  • Electrical engineering in Marine/Offshore/Oil & Gas industry.
  • Applicable experience for EIT systems including Marine or Offshore applications.
  • Experience in handling various wiring diagrams including LV/MV panels, Distribution Boards, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task on a variety of projects to strict time scales with professionalism and integrity.
  • Good communication, report writing, and organization skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Cross-functional, ability to work in a matrix environment, and international team experience.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and business acumen.
  • On-site commissioning experience of large projects.
