Role Description

Shape Winning Bids for Major Australian Construction Projects. Advance beyond traditional estimating by helping shape the commercial future of Australian construction projects. The Landscape Quantity Surveyor (PlanSwift) transforms technical insights into competitive tenders, accurate budgets, and confident business decisions for an experienced contractor.

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years of experience in bid preparation for soft and hard landscaping projects
• Proficiency in PlanSwift estimating software
• Proven experience in commercial, institutional, or greenfield construction projects
• Strong understanding of estimating methodologies and the integration of safety and environmental considerations into tenders
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates
• Proven ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver accurate project assessments
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage junior staff

Requirements

• Produce detailed, comprehensive, and accurate measurements while maintaining quality control
• Follow established systems that enable self-checking and efficient peer review
• Meet tight and critical deadlines to support estimators and submissions coordinators
• Assess safety considerations during tender preparation and include appropriate provisions
• Integrate environmental considerations into project tenders and include suitable provisions
• Prepare detailed estimates in accordance with company standard operating procedures
• Present larger estimates for peer review
• Solicit quotations from a broad range of subcontractors for key work packages
• Build strong client relationships to maintain the company's "Contractor of Choice" status
• Prepare and submit tenders within client timelines
• Track submitted tenders and conduct timely follow-ups
• Assist project managers during project handovers and support budget preparation
• Identify suitable methods for executing complex technical projects
• Coordinate tender planning meetings to align estimating efforts efficiently
• Manage resources and ensure effective bid programming
• Review incoming tenders, assess their suitability, and estimate their approximate value
• Mentor and manage junior staff
