Role Description

The Lab IT Solution Engineer reports directly to the Chief Services Officer and is focused on supporting the Sales organization. The Lab IT Solution Engineer serves as a technical and solutions-focused partner within JTG Consulting Group’s sales process, helping prospective and existing clients translate laboratory, technology, and operational needs into well-defined solutions.

The role applies laboratory IT expertise, problem-solving, and strong communication skills to support client discovery, scoping, estimating, proposal and Statement of Work (SOW) development, and the transition of awarded work to Services. Working collaboratively with Sales, Services, and JTG subject matter experts, the Lab IT Solution Engineer helps coordinate internal communication as well as gather and document requirements.

The Lab IT Solution Engineer owns the development and maintenance of accurate client quotes based on the scope, assumptions, resource requirements, pricing guidance, and delivery inputs validated by the appropriate Sales and Services stakeholders. The role helps ensure proposed solutions and related documentation are technically sound, appropriately scoped, accurately quoted, and aligned with client needs and JTG’s capabilities. The Lab IT Solution Engineer also supports pre-sales activities, including participating in client calls and presenting proposed quotes to clients as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (required)
• Experience working as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Laboratory Information Systems
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Clinical Processes
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience working in solution engineering or HIT Implementation
• Demonstrated experience developing scopes, estimates, quotes, proposals, and Statements of Work for professional or technical services.
• Experience coordinating client requirements across Sales, technical subject matter experts, and service-delivery teams.
• Knowledge of clinical standards, documentation methods and existing practices
• Demonstrated technical skills and aptitudes related to all computer related activities
• Demonstrated ability to understand all laboratory related computer applications, and the ability to learn and apply new applications and programs

Requirements

• Understanding of HIPAA, PHI security considerations, and healthcare data compliance
• Familiarity with clinical standards, clinical processes, laboratory workflows, documentation methods, existing practices and clinical lab regulations and quality management systems, i.e., FDA, CAP, CLIA, AABB, HIPAA, etc.
• Ability to work independently but also as part of a collaborative team
• Ability to work safely in active laboratory environments when required, including around biological specimens, chemicals, and other laboratory hazards, with appropriate training and protective equipment
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
• Exceptional verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Experience with Dynamics 365
• Experience with Microsoft 365
• Ability to work remotely
• Located within the Central or Eastern time zones
• Anticipated travel is 25% to 50% and may vary based on client engagements and business needs
