Role Description
This role involves participating in the design and implementation of new access control and CCTV systems, including providing recommendations on hardware and software solutions.
- Install, program and configure commercial electronic security systems for enterprise systems (door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low voltage communication, electronic locks, point sensors, signaling devices, etc.)
- Design, implement, and manage virtual machines (VMs) on a server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, subnetting, routing protocols, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot new security installations to ensure the systems are functioning properly and satisfy codes.
- Facilitate communication of cameras and access control to the Security Systems Software.
- Work with clients to understand their unique business requirements and develop customized solutions that meet those needs.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and advancements in the industry.
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams, including training on how to use these systems effectively.
- Develop and maintain documentation on all systems and solutions, including programming code and hardware configurations.
- Analyze potential changes and enhancements to software and hardware to determine the impact on existing production systems, system design standards and operating procedures.
- Interact with various IT teams to understand issues and challenges with the solution in the field and propose solutions to address.
- Ability to proactively identify and diagnose complex problems & opportunities.
- Participate in end-to-end testing efforts.
- Participate in the knowledge transfer to support organizations.
- Comfortable operating under a range of applicable project methodologies and frameworks, including waterfall and scrum/agile.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or information systems or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in installing and programming the following:
- GENETEC REQUIRED! Access Control: AMAG, Genetec (required), Lenel
- Video Management: Genetec (required), Axis, Avigilon
- Intrusion Detection: DMP, Bosch
- Install Security Systems Software onto a server (i.e., Genetec (required), Lenel, Salient, Omnicast, Synergis, etc.)
- Knowledge of configuring various Security Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion systems (required).
- Genetec certifications (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within cross-functional project teams effectively.
- Experienced in compliance best practices for technology platforms.
- Experience with software development lifecycle and Agile Methodologies (preferred).
- Able to adapt quickly to changing requirements and priorities.
Requirements
- These duties are too complex and specialized to be performable with a bachelor’s degree related to computer science or computer information systems or information technology.
