Role Description

Sentara Healthcare’s Information Technology division is seeking a proven leader at the individual contributor level to join the IT Business Relationship Management team. The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) primary focus is ensuring that the business and IT management are aligned by:

• Fostering open communication, shared understanding, and collaborative planning.
• Engaging early and often to understand business needs, strategy, and potential opportunities.
• Helping the business navigate IT when needed.
• Ensuring a comprehensive understanding of IT cost implications associated with project intake.
• Validating funding availability and approval prior to the initiation of IT work.
• Acting as a bridge between business and IT to reduce issues, remove roadblocks, and keep work moving forward.
• Driving key relationships and actively partnering with Senior Leadership, IT Strategy, IT PPM, Enterprise Architecture, Transformation Office, Finance, and Contracting.

The BRM currently being recruited will support the Sentara Health Plan division of the organization. The ideal candidate will understand health plan business operations and possess prior information technology experience, including:

• Project management
• ServiceNow
• Core service management fundamentals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, business, or related field or an equivalent (Preferred)
• Relevant certification (Preferred)
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant work experience in areas of IT, healthcare, or business relationship management, process engineering, and/or business analysis.
• Health plan experience.
• Master of listening, reframing, influencing, and persuading.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation & leadership skills.
• Skilled at interacting with IT and business partner senior leadership.
• Ability to build exceptional working relationships with both the business unit and IT.
• Strategic agility and partnering – can anticipate future business needs.
• Strong business IQ – has a deep understanding of the business unit operations, operating model, and priorities.
