Role Description

An exciting opportunity exists to join the ProAssurance family of companies! This position supports Medmarc, our life sciences products liability line of business, and can be fully remote in the contiguous United States.

The Product Development and Coverage Analysis Manager is accountable for overseeing the development and regulatory implementation of Medmarc’s new product lines, primarily specialized E&S coverage offerings, such as excess and products/professional insurance policies. This position is responsible for working with the Underwriting, Legal, and Marketing Departments to develop new insurance products.

Responsibilities include:

• Drafting new insurance contracts, endorsements, and manuscripts.
• Providing coverage training for internal and external audiences.
• Conducting policy language analysis, comparison, and review.
• Providing coverage consultation.
• Producing pieces of thought leadership on coverage matters for internal and external use.
• Displaying leadership qualities within the organization.
• Taking on senior roles in special projects.
• Building and managing teams.

What you'll do:

• 50% - Oversee the development of new insurance products:
  • Draft coverage language and provide creative coverage solutions.
  • Develop a strategic vision for Medmarc's coverage offering.
  • Manage planning, development, drafting, implementation, and introduction of new and revised insurance products.
  • Develop policy language for new and revised product offerings.
  • Advise on alternative coverage solutions.
  • Seek input from key stakeholders.
  • Prepare communications to leadership regarding form development and management.
  • Coordinate with business units outside of Medmarc.
• 30% - Provide day-to-day coverage analysis and consultation:
  • Consult on and provide interpretation of coverage language.
  • Monitor and report on the marketplace.
  • Consult with Underwriting on customized coverage terms.
  • Develop and recommend proposed language for coverage endorsements.
  • Respond to questions about Medmarc's coverage terms.
  • Draft customer communications related to coverage.
  • Advise on underwriting rules.
• 10% - Develop and deliver educational content:
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on coverage forms and policy language.
  • Create educational materials for onboarding and continuing education.
  • Create coverage guides and references to support the underwriting process.
• 10% - Coordinate with the Legal Department:
  • Prepare supporting documentation for regulatory filings.
  • Assist with timely responses to form-related questions posed by state insurance departments.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is required with a strong preference for candidates with a juris doctor (JD).
• Minimum of five years of experience in a casualty insurance environment.
• CPCU, AIC, or ARM is highly desired.
• Experience analyzing, interpreting, and developing coverage language.
• Proven self-starter with strong relationship management skills.
• Able to create, build, and develop superior relationships with internal colleagues.
• Superior analytical, negotiation, marketing, and sales skills.
• Excellent listening, speaking, writing, and presentation skills.
• Meets work deadlines and has excellent desk-management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Up to 10% travel.

Position Salary Range: $115,870.00 - $191,204.00
