Role Description
This role involves supporting the low-voltage data center construction process by providing accurate cost estimates for structured cabling projects in mission-critical data centers.
- Prepare complete and accurate cost estimates for hyperscale data center projects, including labor, materials, and engineering costs.
- Work with sales and project management to ensure accurate estimates and smooth transitions throughout the project life cycle.
- Review and analyze project documents, identify inconsistencies, and participate in internal estimate reviews.
- Identify potential risks, monitor project scope changes, and submit timely change orders as needed.
- Develop detailed bid submissions, including cost data, risk factors, and material pricing to meet project requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field preferred (relevant experience may substitute).
- 5+ years of experience estimating large-scale hyperscale data center projects.
- Expertise in structured cabling/low voltage industry and large-scale project estimating.
- Bluebeam expertise is required; familiarity with AutoCAD/BIM360 is preferred.
- RCDD certification required.
- Proven understanding of hyperscale market design variations and infrastructure platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams.
Requirements
- Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on an intermittent to regular basis daily.
- Frequently required to stand and walk.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet.
- May be required to work in tight, confined spaces.
- Must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance.
- Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle, and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
