Role Description

Hiring for this position is still pending award of contract. This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

The IMAP HVAC technician is responsible for completing preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance in accordance with the IMAP HVAC scope of work as described below.

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Attend the In-Brief Meeting on the first day at Post and assist in relaying the Team’s plans to complete their SOW.
  • Assist teammates in coordinating access to PCC and other secure locations.
  • Coordinate outages required for maintenance or repairs during the visit.
  • Take part in the tour of the facilities and create an inventory of equipment for Preventative Maintenance (PM).
  • Equipment within the Team’s HVAC SOW includes:
    • Split Air Conditioning Units (inside and outside)
    • McLean Midwest Package Units
    • Package Air Conditioning Units
    • Air Handling Units
    • Fan Coil Units
    • Chillers
    • Cooling Towers
    • Boilers
    • Water Pumps
    • Water Treatment Systems
    • Building Automation Systems
  • Print out IMAP checklists for each piece of HVAC equipment to service.
  • Complete PM on each piece of equipment as dictated by the checklist.
  • Fill out checklist for each piece of equipment PM’d and document all comments and findings.
  • Identify corrective maintenance items and estimate time and materials required.
  • Verify with Post about the availability of required parts.
  • Complete approved corrective maintenance work and test equipment for proper functionality.
  • Document unresolved issues as remaining deficiencies according to guidelines.
  • Ensure all areas visited are properly cleaned and organized.
  • Wear proper Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Report and resolve any life, health, or safety issues discovered at Post.
  • Identify and complete your portion of the final Service Report (SR) for the visit.
  • Create a Bill of Materials (BOM) for recommended spare parts and tools.
  • Work with Locally Employed Staff (LES) for on-the-job training.
  • Conduct dedicated training for the LES if requested, and document attendance.
  • Communicate daily with teammates about work accomplished and any issues encountered.
  • Review all tickets, Electronic Country Clearances (eCC’s), and passports for issues.
  • Keep the Facility Manager informed of any encountered issues during the visit.
  • Attend Out-Brief Meeting to relay results of PM and corrective maintenance.
  • Complete a Field Time Summary (FTS) for corrective maintenance time.
  • Discuss concerns with teammates for planning around the next break cycle.
  • Complete a weekly Trip Expense Report (TER) for M&IE claimed and reimbursable expenses.
  • Document time using Deltek or appropriate timekeeping software daily.
  • Stay up-to-date on expectations and duties outlined in the Field Operations Manual.
  • Maintain professional trade licenses and stay updated on building code revisions.
  • Complete a Danger Pay/Post Hardship Verification form if necessary.
  • Return unnecessary passports to the IMAP Travel Manager ASAP.
  • Report failures of company issued equipment or GFE to IMAP Logistics support group.

  • Detailed Remaining Deficiency worksheets
  • Complete and accurate Bill of Materials (BOM)

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of a State approved/accredited or military program that provided formal HVAC Journeyman level instruction and training or hold a valid Master HVAC License at a State Level.
  • Must hold a current EPA-approved CFC Universal certification for high and low-pressure refrigerants.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Must have the physical ability to travel overseas.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination for duty.
  • Must be able to work on ladders, access rooftops, and lift and carry materials over 25 lbs.
  • Must be familiar with ASHRAE, OSHA, and other safety regulations.
  • Must be proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Requirements

  • Level 1 / Apprentice: Requires at least 5-7 years of experience as a Journeyman HVAC Technician.
  • Level 2 / Journeyman: Requires at least 7-10 years of experience as a Journeyman HVAC Technician.
  • Level 3 / Master: Requires at least 10+ years of experience as a Journeyman HVAC Technician.
  • Level 4 / Superintendent: Requires 10+ years of related experience and 1 or more years on the IMAP contract.
