[Hiring] HSSE Sub-division Senior Director @JLL

Role Description

The successful candidate will be capable of meeting consistent goals set by the Regional Americas HSSE Lead and Global HSSE function. Goals will be continuously stretched in pursuit of our safety and sustainability ambitions. The most important objective of this role will be ensuring that our employees and sub-contractors across the Central Division return home safely at the end of their workday. This will require a sustained reduction of incidents and injury rates across our WD businesses, and engagement with the wider Central Divisions WD communities in raising awareness and taking accountability for personal safety and wellness.

This role reports directly to the HSSE Central Division Director, and will share accountability for implementation of the Global WD HSSE program across the division WD operations.

As a member of the HSSE team, the HSSE Director will be responsible for deploying and supporting the JLL health, safety and environmental risk management strategy and supporting the HSSE professionals in a portion of the division. The role will be dedicated to managing HSSE matters for WD and WD client accounts in the allocated portion of the Central Division.

• Enable the WD business to comply with JLL, cultural, client and statutory requirements in its operations.
• Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental issues.
• Ensure alignment and compliance with HSSE policies and practice and statutory requirements.
• Facilitate the delivery and management of HSSE, by supporting WD staff to achieve compliance and performance reporting against all JLL & client-set HSSE metrics and KPI’s.
• Support a program for training, audit, measurement and reporting HSSE performance against agreed standards.
• Support new business pursuits, transition of new accounts and expansion of existing accounts.
• Promote a positive, proactive HSSE culture and influence stakeholders.
• Implement practical risk management strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience in health, safety, and environmental management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Knowledge of ISO14001 & ISO45001 Standards.

Requirements

• Coordinate the implementation of HSSE monitoring procedures.
• Assist the Sourcing and Procurement (S&P) team in approving and monitoring JLL Contractors.
• Meet operational objectives as specified by the relevant business leaders.
• Have a pragmatic and cost-effective approach to HSSE management.
• Identify conclusions or approaches to problems including strengths and weaknesses of existing systems and alternative solutions.
• Manage HSSE team members operating within the identified portion of the division.
• Support HSSE program goals of alignment to ISO14001 & ISO45001 Standards.
• Ensure the delivery of an HSSE training program compliant with all local requirements.
• Manage relationships between accounts, business functions, and employees within the division.
• Provide guidance and advice on health and safety risk management at all levels in the division.
• Ensure WD accounts meet JLL Global HSSE Standards.
• Keep abreast of legislation advice and alert the WD business to changes impacting the business.
• Produce and update policy proposals and procedural amendments reflecting changes in legislation, best practice or advice.
• Assist with investigations into specific incidents or accidents with health & safety and/or environmental consequences.
• Support work teams to secure operational HSSE compliance, including HSSE audits and inspections.
• Support staff with HSSE risk assessments and identification of appropriate control solutions.
