[Hiring] GTM Customer Engineer @Scout AI

Role Description

The future of defense will be decided by those who field intelligent machines at scale. At Scout AI, we’re developing Fury, the first robotic foundation model for defense, to give U.S. forces overwhelming, adaptable, and autonomous power across every domain.

We’re looking for a GTM Customer Engineer Manager to become a trusted technical advisor to the customers and partners adopting Fury into their core missions and products. You’ll work closely with customer engineering, product, and operations teams as they field new capabilities powered by Fury.

• Advising on architecture design decisions
• Developing evaluation frameworks
• Guiding customers through cutting-edge implementation patterns for foundation models
• Building and leading Scout AI’s customer engineering function as we scale

Working closely with our Sales, Product, and Engineering teams, you’ll guide a focused portfolio of customers from technical discovery through successful deployment.

• Combining deep engineering expertise with customer-facing skills
• Helping customers unlock the full potential of Fury while maintaining high standards for safety and reliability
• Moving fast, context-switching daily, and helping define the culture and process

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in technical roles such as Customer Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Software Engineer, or Technical Product Manager
• Production experience with LLMs, VLMs, and/or VLAs including advanced prompt engineering, agent development and frameworks, evaluation frameworks, transcript analysis, MCP, and deployment at scale
• Strong programming skills with proficiency in JSON, Python or TypeScript and experience building production applications
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and execute across domains with intellectual openness
• High-cooperation mindset for cross-organizational collaboration
• Passion for advancing safe, beneficial AI systems through creative technical applications
• Exceptional communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• At least a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
• Passion about defense of the United States and its allies
• May be expected to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance

The stated salary range below represents an estimated base pay only and reflects consideration of multiple compensation factors. Final salary offers may differ depending on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience or training background, specialized skills, and business needs.

US Salary Range: $150,000 — $180,000 USD
