Role Description

The Global Transplant Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for end-to-end billing, follow-up, and revenue integrity activities for Global Transplant across commercial and government payers. This role serves as a billing case manager for transplant patients, coordinating complex, multi-phase billing workflows from evaluation through transplant and post-transplant periods. The position requires strong knowledge of payer contracts, bundled billing structures, clearinghouse workflows, and claims follow-up processes to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.

• The Global Transplant team functions as an integral part of the Revenue Cycle.
• Each member serves as a financial contract case coordinator.
• Ensures transplant claims are submitted timely and effectively.
• Submits professional claims for various physician groups.
• Follows up with various transplant payer agencies.
• Collaborates with the financial counselor and authorization teams.
• Must know unique contract details for each of the global agreements.
• Expected to perform at a higher level with combined responsibilities of hospital billing, professional billing, case reconciliation, accounts receivable, contractual understanding, and credit balance resolution.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• PC knowledge and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Minimum 6 months experience in customer service or a healthcare environment.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience in healthcare or physician practice preferred.
• Medical terminology, ICD-9 diagnosis coding, and third-party reimbursement experience a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multiple databases for management and reporting.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner while interacting with consumers, physicians, and all medical center faculty and staff.
• Familiarity with OSUMC and its entities preferred.
