Role Description

This role involves supporting the Global Health and Nutrition Knowledge Management and Communications team as an intern.

  • Enhance Online Presence: Maintain and refresh content on World Vision's website to emphasize key program areas and enhance technical branding.
  • Internal Collaboration: Generate content for World Vision's SharePoint intranet to foster internal communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Social Media Engagement: Develop compelling social media content for Global Health and Nutrition Days, spotlighting program achievements and raising awareness of World Vision's impactful initiatives.
  • External Engagement Support: Contribute to organizing conference side events or sessions to promote World Vision's programs and partnerships.
  • Content Creation Support: Assist in creating and updating content for World Vision's external website and internal intranet to enhance thought leadership and communicate the impact of health and nutrition programs.
  • Social Media Campaigns: Aid in producing social media content for global awareness days like International Women’s Day, World Tuberculosis Day, and others, highlighting World Vision’s initiatives in these critical health areas.
  • Skill Development Opportunity: Gain insights into World Vision's child-focused health and nutrition initiatives while honing skills in communication, content creation, editing, and storytelling for web and social media platforms.
  • Expand Your Horizons: Explore the international relief sector, unleash your leadership skills, and strengthen your Christian faith with Weekly Professional Development Sessions.
  • Transform Lives: Take on challenging and meaningful work assignments while developing your technical skills and gaining valuable hands-on experience.
  • Join an Inspiring Community: Form connections with a diverse nationwide intern cohort and colleagues who, inspired by their Christian faith, support children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places.

Qualifications

  • Proven Communication Skills: Skilled in creating and delivering high-quality marketing and communications content tailored for diverse audiences.
  • Expertise in Web and Social Media: Experienced in developing engaging content for web platforms and social media channels.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in English writing and editing; fluency in French and Spanish is preferred.
  • Independent and Virtual Team Player: Capable of working autonomously and thriving in a virtual team environment.
  • Responsibility and Enthusiasm: Responsible, responsive, and enthusiastic about using your God-given talents to positively impact the world.
  • Commitment to our Mission: Demonstrated commitment to and alignment with the goals, mission, and vision of World Vision, embodying its values in all aspects of your work.

Requirements

  • Location: Remote within the US. Must be physically located in one of the states where WVI is registered as an employer.
  • Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Communications, Marketing, Public Engagement, Global Health, Nutrition, or related fields.
  • Internship Cohort Dates: 27 May – 22 August.
  • Stipend: This internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.
  • Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (24-40 hours/week).
  • Eligibility: At least 18 years of age, eligible to work in the United States, able to commit to at least 24 hours per week for the entire internship period, current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate/graduate programme (within 2 years), adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith, willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes.
