Role Description

The Global Business Events Manager leads end-to-end planning and execution of Hach’s global business events, ensuring exceptional attendee experiences and measurable impact against commercial, culture, and brand objectives. Reporting to Global Marketing, this role owns event strategy, program management, budget and vendor management, logistics, and post-event analysis for key internal programs (including Commercial Kickoff and President’s Club) and associate-supported community events, while partnering cross-functionally to support trade shows and other priority event needs.

  • Responsible for executing three critical global events annually, each requiring multiple site visits.
  • Plan events 18–24 months in advance to guarantee seamless delivery and alignment with organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site execution; manage escalations, safety, and contingency plans to deliver a high-quality attendee experience.
  • Own end-to-end program management for assigned global events from concept through execution and closeout.
  • Lead event core teams on a regular cadence; drive decisions, remove obstacles, and coordinate workstreams (content, branding, exhibitor/sponsor relations, logistics/operations, project coordination, and satellites).
  • Develop event strategy, objectives, and success metrics in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Product Management; ensure messaging and deliverables align to business priorities.
  • Build and manage event budgets (up to $3M+), forecast spend, track financial performance, and identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Establish and upkeep event governance and standards, including templates, playbooks, and SOPs, to ensure consistent, scalable planning and execution across global events.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage contracts for venues, sponsors/exhibitors, and third-party vendors in collaboration with Legal, Strategic Sourcing, and Finance.
  • Create and execute detailed event logistics and operations plans (timelines, run-of-show, registration, travel, on-site production, risk management, and contingency plans).
  • Serve as primary liaison across key stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Global Marketing, Community Relations, Events, and regional teams) to align expectations and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Manage RFP and procurement processes to ensure competitive, compliant vendor selection and clear scopes of work.
  • Design and analyze post-event feedback (surveys, debriefs, and performance reporting) and translate insights into actionable improvements across the event portfolio.
  • Monitor event and experiential marketing trends and benchmark competitor events to recommend innovations that enhance attendee engagement and business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years directly related event management experience in internal and external, corporate event planning; B2B experience preferred.
  • Experience with planning and realizing large and small high-profile events.
  • 5 years’ experience writing promotional copy, managing events, planning, and executing campaigns and providing content for social media, blogs, emails, and websites.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail with ability to operate collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing social media channels.

Requirements

  • Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time, including domestic and international trips.
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends to support in-person or virtual events and adapt to various time zones when working remotely.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and managing comprehensive event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Strong negotiation skills with vendors and suppliers to secure optimal rates and maintain financial control throughout event planning and execution.
  • Experience working with global markets, including North America, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.
  • Experience using Cvent for event management, including registration, attendee tracking, and reporting.
  • Experience with SFDC, CRM, and project management systems, preferably Marketo and Wrike.
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off.
