Role Description

A Remote Font Producer is a fundamental part of the Sportsnet Remote Production team. Our Remote Font Producer defines the informational vision, sets accuracy expectations, and delivers compelling and entertaining on-air content by supporting commentator analysis through statistics and analytics. Remote Font Producers are responsible for accessing statistical information in a timely manner to track and build compelling Remote Production content.

• Research and source statistical information in a timely manner
• Collaborate with the Remote Producers, Commentators, and other Associate Producers to understand the stories and how they are told in shows
• Exhibit ownership of content in shows
• Demonstrate exemplary attention to detail
• Utilize sound communication skills
• Initiate pitches for statistic and content ideas to Remote Producers to enhance show storylines
• Be responsible for all graphics for Remote Productions assigned
• Provide guidance to Operators on how the information should appear on-air
• Recognize trends in a live game and communicate those to the Remote Producer
• Spell and fact-check graphics
• Work remotely
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Occasionally fulfill regular Associate Producer shifts when required

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of Broadcast experience
• Experience in a Remote Production environment and/or with live sports Productions
• Detail and accuracy oriented with excellent knowledge of sports statistics and analytics (hockey expertise preferred)
• Comfortable in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
• Must be able to work various shifts (including weekends and evenings)
• Strong knowledge of technical equipment used in production
