Role Description

The Division of Fleet Management Services is looking for a Fleet Safety/Environmental Compliance/Facility Coordination Manager. The employee will be responsible for managing the Safety, Training and Security Section of the Division of Fleet Management Services (DFMS) in the Department of General Services. This position provides management, oversight and leadership in the areas of:

• Workplace Safety
• Environmental Compliance
• Facility Maintenance
• Facility Project Safety Coordination
• Vehicle Warranty Recovery
• Equipment and Maintenance Procurement/Contract Management

These roles ensure compliance with Federal, State and County regulations and requirements. The position involves:

• Managing facility and building issues, repair coordination, equipment maintenance and procurement.
• Maintaining liaison with contractors and other government agencies to plan and design projects.
• Conducting environmental and safety inspections and audits.
• Developing and administering contracts, including preparing requests for proposals (RFP's).
• Overseeing an effective warranty program which tracks repairs and pursues warranty recovery claims.
• Managing and overseeing all employee, vehicle, and shop safety.
• Conducting facilities and environmental safety inspections and audits.

The employee will be required to work at all locations and may include nights and weekends. The individual selected for this position will be considered an Essential Employee.

Qualifications

• Thorough Five (5) years professional experience in fleet operations, safety and/or environmental fields.
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
• Possession of a valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver’s license from the applicant's state of residence.

Requirements

• Experience related to environmental regulations and requirements pertinent to vehicle maintenance operations and facilities management.
• Experience in occupational safety and health regulations, standards and policies.
• Experience in strategic program and project planning, execution and evaluation.
• Experience in the procurement process and contract management.
• Experience supervising a team of employees.
• Experience using automated systems and tools to store, access and analyze information and data (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Fleet Management Inventory System).
