Role Description

Responsible for on-site troubleshooting, repair, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial food-processing equipment at customer locations. This role involves extensive travel and direct customer interaction while serving as a key technical representative in the field.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, servicing, installation, and maintenance of industrial food-processing equipment.
• Install new equipment and ensure systems are fully operational according to technical specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and operational system issues.
• Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal support teams.
• Document all service activities accurately in CRM systems (Salesforce) within required timelines.
• Travel extensively to customer sites throughout North America with occasional international travel.
• Communicate job progress, findings, and recommendations to service leadership and customers.
• Recommend replacement parts, maintenance services, and equipment improvements.
• Train customers on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support and training as needed.
• Maintain strong professional relationships and represent the company professionally in the field.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in electrical, mechanical maintenance, automation, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent hands-on experience in field service, industrial maintenance, food processing, or equipment service accepted.

Requirements

• 3+ years of field service, industrial maintenance, packaging equipment, or food-processing equipment experience (5+ preferred).
• Food processing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and system documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills in customer-facing, high-pressure environments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing travel schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.

Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Valid passport or ability to obtain one required.
• Ability to travel frequently throughout North America with occasional international travel.
• Must be based in or near the Chicago, IL area.
• Must be comfortable with approximately 60–70% travel.
