Role Description

TerraPower is seeking to hire highly motivated and forward-thinking professionals who are interested in focusing on advanced nuclear reactor research and development and influencing change within the nuclear power landscape and bringing forward the critical production of medical isotopes.

Equipment Supply Manager

TerraPower, LLC. is seeking an Equipment Supply Manager who is the single point of accountability for development, delivery, start up and close-out of equipment for Natrium sites. The Equipment Supply Manager plans and manages the overall execution of plant equipment delivery. They are responsible for the coordination of multiple cross-functional teams needed to complete all aspects of delivery scope throughout the equipment delivery lifecycle.

  • Define and lead execution strategy for equipment across multiple teams, functions, and organizations.
  • Articulate requirements, goals, and milestones for equipment delivery with appropriate stakeholders responsible for specific areas (system leads, senior managers, project managers).
  • Drive equipment delivery on time and on budget per the Natrium Project plan.
  • Work with project teams to develop plans, influence teams to deliver to them, and keep leadership informed on progress.
  • Coordinate the timely review of deliverables across cross functional teams.
  • Work with project teams to ensure that work focuses on the highest priority as appropriately reflected in the schedule.
  • Initiate and rapidly execute recovery efforts when cost and schedule items arise.
  • Escalate challenges promptly to ensure they receive adequate attention and resources for resolution.
  • Work with Corporate Procurement and Supply Chain teams to execute equipment specific procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate and drive strategies for vendor engagement prior to RFP to ensure viability of design specifications and scopes of work.
  • Track and monitor the issuance and release of contracts for all equipment-related scopes.
  • Oversee vendor performance for vendor awarded scope.
  • Monitor contract budgets and approved values to verify that work is adequately funded and aligns with project financial parameters.
  • Work with Testing teams to ensure development, demonstration and qualification testing efforts support equipment delivery needs.
  • Manage risks to schedule and budget associated with testing programs.
  • Reinforce organizational accountability for testing programs and results.
  • Facilitate timely incorporation of any test results impacting design.
  • Work with Natrium Fabrication Oversight to manage fabrication vendors, to identify and manage witness or hold point notifications.
  • Work with Natrium Construction team to ensure on-site requirements and strategies for assembly, installation and inspections are integrated with equipment delivery plans.
  • Work with TerraPower QA and Licensing groups to ensure adherence to quality requirements, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Work with Project Management and Project Controls groups to ensure up to date cost and schedule forecasting.
  • Work with Commissioning team to ensure adequate documentation, materials, spare parts, and support is available for planned testing on site.
  • Implement accountability and governance checkpoints for testing programs.
  • Conduct regular prioritization and triage reviews to confirm that work efforts remain focused on the highest-value activities.
  • Lead development and implementation of recovery and get-well plans when deviations from cost or schedule occur.
  • Establish and execute formal escalation management protocols to ensure timely resolution of critical issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience related to Supply Chain, Project Management, or Project Delivery.
  • Proven leader, with a strong technical background, in one or many areas of the scope.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Jira and P6 (Primavera).
  • Strong familiarity with nuclear codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Preferred qualifications include certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean methodology.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a large project scope across multiple teams with strong dependencies.
  • Great communication skills, and effective cross-organization collaborator.
  • Thrive and succeed in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Creative, proactive, attentive to detail, and can take ownership of problems and their resolution.
  • The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity.

Requirements

  • Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands).
  • Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Repetitive work: Prolonged.
  • Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work.
  • Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day.
  • Travel required: 20-50% or more.
