Role Description

ASRC Federal welcomes ALL CURRENT and PREVIOUS INCUMBENTS on the EPIC program to join our team as we pursue the NOAA’s Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC) contract.

• Advance U.S. weather modeling skill and reclaim international leadership in numerical weather prediction.
• Accelerate Research‑to‑Operations (R2O) and Operations‑to‑Research (O2R) cycles for the Unified Forecast System (UFS).
• Provide cloud‑based development environments for scientists and engineers to collaborate on UFS code.
• Support community engagement through workshops, tutorials, and open‑science collaboration.

EPIC work is distributed across NOAA centers and remote contributors, including:

• NOAA Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) — College Park, MD
• NOAA OAR / Weather Program Office — Silver Spring, MD
• Cloud‑based collaboration environments enabling remote scientific and software development work

Qualifications

• Experience in weather modeling and numerical weather prediction.
• Familiarity with Research‑to‑Operations (R2O) and Operations‑to‑Research (O2R) cycles.
• Proficiency in cloud-based development environments.
• Strong collaboration skills for community engagement.
