Role Description

Energy Environmental Group (EEG) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Planner I or II to support our environmental planning and permitting efforts for various projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing technical documents for submittal to various federal and state agencies. Daily tasks will include:

• Reviewing existing project documents and GIS maps.
• Quantifying project-related disturbance.
• Coordinating with construction personnel and subject matter experts, and GIS staff.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, government agencies, and team members.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, GIS software, and mobile data collection tools.
• Comfortable working in office and field settings, including challenging terrain and adverse environmental conditions.
• Willingness to travel out-of-state, often on short notice, and work flexible hours as needed.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, with a strong sense of reliability and punctuality.

Requirements

• Physical Requirements:
• Lifting: Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs.
• Field Work: Capable of traversing challenging terrain and working long hours in varying environmental conditions.
• Travel: Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Geography, GIS, Natural Resources, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience (or a master’s degree in an applicable field).
• Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid driver’s license.
• Preferred Experience:
• Knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution line construction activities.
• Planning and field experience on construction projects.
• Proficiency with ESRI GIS Software (Desktop, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps) and Google Earth.

Benefits

• Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000
