[Hiring] Enterprise Business Architecture Lead @Northrop Grumman

YDay - Northrop Grumman is hiring a remote Enterprise Business Architecture Lead. 💸 Salary: usd 133,200 - 199,800 per year 📍Location: USA

Role Description

Northrop Grumman’s Corporate Sector Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO) is seeking a Manager Computer Systems Architecture 2 to serve as the Enterprise Business Architecture Lead. The selected candidate will oversee the business architecture lane within the Strategy and Architecture team of the Governance & Strategy organization and guide business architecture activities that connect enterprise strategy, operating model, capabilities, processes, and transformation priorities to architecture direction and investment decisions.

This role is aligned to the target operating model in which the Head of Strategy and Architecture leads a broader Strategy and Architecture portfolio that includes strategy, technical architecture, business architecture, and performance-oriented functions as distinct peer lanes. The Enterprise Business Architecture Lead is responsible for leading the business architecture segment of the CIDO portfolio, translating enterprise priorities into business architecture framing, guiding cross-capability analysis, and ensuring architecture decisions remain anchored in business outcomes rather than local technology optimization.

This role remains a peer lane to the enterprise technical architecture function. The Enterprise Business Architecture Lead is expected to partner closely with the Enterprise Technical Architecture Lead and adjacent peers while reporting to the Head of Strategy and Architecture.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the enterprise business architecture organization under the Head of Strategy and Architecture, including direct management and objective-oriented direction of business-capability-aligned architects and assigned staff.
  • Define and manage business architecture methods, expected outputs, operating cadences, and work priorities for the business architecture lane.
  • Translate enterprise strategy and operating-model needs into business architecture direction, business capability framing, and transformation priorities.
  • Partner with technical architecture leaders, strategy stakeholders, and business leaders to improve alignment between enterprise priorities, architecture decisions, and business outcomes.

This position will be available as a virtual telecommuter; however, the incumbent must be within 90 miles of a major Northrop Grumman location for ad hoc onsite meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field and 9+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 7+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years.
  • Demonstrated experience in business architecture, enterprise architecture, operating-model design, business process analysis, or strategy-to-technology alignment roles.
  • Experience leading teams or managing a functional segment responsible for business analysis, business architecture, transformation planning, or related enterprise initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect business priorities, process change, capability design, and architectural direction.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder-management, and cross-functional leadership skills across business and technology organizations.
  • Experience shaping enterprise roadmaps, business transformation priorities, or cross-functional trade-off decisions.
  • Knowledge of TOGAF ADM or other Architecture Frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of the Aerospace and Defense business domain.
  • Experience integrating business architecture into a governance board and investment planning cycle.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading business architecture, enterprise transformation, operating-model, or strategic planning initiatives in a large organization.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, federal, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience with capability modeling, process architecture/modeling, business operating-model design, or business transformation governance.
  • Experience working within strategy, governance, chief-of-staff, or enterprise-planning functions.
  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to frame architecture issues in business terms for senior leaders.
  • Experience managing exempt professionals or architect/analyst populations in a matrixed organization.

Benefits

  • Flexible work arrangements.
  • Phenomenal learning opportunities.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers.
  • Friendly team environment.
  • Exceptional benefits/healthcare.
  • 9/80 work schedule option.
  • Great 401k matching program.
