[Hiring] Engineer - Powerplant Lease Specialist @Frontier Airlines

Role Description

The Engineer, Powerplant Lease Specialist is primarily responsible for the administration, oversight, and technical compliance of leased engines and APUs across their lifecycle. This includes lease selection, induction, configuration review, in‑service monitoring, and return condition management. In addition to these duties, the position provides technical engineering support, regulatory analysis, and troubleshooting for powerplant systems in support of fleet reliability, compliance, and operational continuity.

Essential Functions

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all Tech Ops lease‑return activities for engines, APUs, and powerplant assemblies.
• Review and manage engine, APU, and component configurations for induction, operational use, and lease‑return implications.
• Develop, publish, and maintain engineering data and modification instructions based on regulatory mandates, OEM guidance, and industry standards.
• Review ADs, Service Bulletins, regulatory requirements, engineering documents, and OEM publications for applicability.
• Conduct research and gather technical data to support engineering and maintenance documentation.
• Monitor powerplant fleet performance and implement corrective actions to maintain fleet health.
• Develop and manage powerplant shop‑visit work scopes and schedules.
• Support reliability program analysis for assigned powerplant systems.
• Provide technical support across Technical Services, Line Maintenance, and Heavy Maintenance.
• Partner with the Materials organization on commercial and technical matters related to engines and APUs.
• Collaborate with internal and external entities on powerplant‑related technical, operational, and programmatic activities.
• Evaluate and determine BER disposition for engine and APU components.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Authority

• Authority to revise and modify engineering documents and FMIS entries.
• Authority to conduct OJT training for department personnel.
• Signature authority in the Manager’s absence, within delegated limits.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree preferred; will consider FAA Mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Power plant ratings in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a 121 airline environment, Technical Services/Engineering Department or comparable maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Familiar with Engine Work Scoping, Engine Fleet Management, Time Controlled Parts, Reliability Programs, FARs, and Manufacturers Documentation.

• This role can be based at our headquarters in Denver, CO or anywhere in the United States via a remote work arrangement.
• If remote, must follow remote work policies and have access to a high-speed internet connection.
• If headquarters-based, typical office environment, adequately heated and cooled.

• Generally, not required.

Supervision Received

• General Direction: The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.
