Role Description

The primary function of this position is to educate community and business partners on Apple Health (Medicaid) eligibility. This program specialist facilitates meetings and webinars, coordinates training efforts, and develops training materials. The ideal candidate will be, or become familiar with, the ins and outs of Apple Health eligibility and will be confident presenting this material in front of internal and external partners. Duties

  • Lead the development and coordination of eligibility policy outreach and training materials.
  • Develop and execute communication plans to inform of new and changing eligibility policy initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate the development, planning, and execution of eligibility policy webinars.
  • Develop and assist in executing compliance outreach and education campaigns.
  • Coordinate and maintain updates to the Apple Health Eligibility Manual.
  • Lead the compliance coordination, review, and maintenance of the eligibility external webpage.
  • Maintain the library of eligibility policy training, outreach, and publications.
  • Lead and coordinate the compliance review of the annual cycle Apple Health application updates.
  • Review all eligibility policy materials to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Provide consultative and technical assistance to subject matter experts across the section and eligibility business areas.
  • Review, coordinate, and respond to internal and external eligibility policy inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with a major study in health, social science, public administration, education, or closely related field and two (2) years of consultative or supervisory experience in health services, social services or Medicaid programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major study in health, social science, public administration, education, or closely related field and four (4) years of consultative or supervisory experience in health services, social services or Medicaid programs.
  • Associate degree with a major study in health, social science, public administration, education, or closely related field and six (6) years of consultative or supervisory experience in health services, social services or Medicaid programs.
  • Eight (8) years of consultative or supervisory experience in health services, social services or Medicaid programs.
  • One year as a Health Care Program Consultant in state government supervising or providing consultative experience in health services, social services, or Medicaid programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience collaborating with external and internal partners to accomplish projects.
  • Coordinating, and/or leading small and large groups, creating a cooperative and productive environment in which to resolve problems and implement plans.
  • Facilitating and representing your team or organization in meetings.
  • Intermediate or better skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working in health care or health services settings.
  • Working with Medicaid policies.
  • Comfortable collaborating with cross functional teams and external agencies and stakeholders.
  • High degree of computer literacy including experience with Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, web-based applications, and other technologies that can be used to further carry the program’s mission.
  • Self-directed personality with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand best practices for communicating visual information.
  • Solid independent judgement and self-motivation.
  • Organized and resourceful with the ability to complete tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions, prioritize workload, manage deadlines, and organize workflow and multi-task in a smart and timely fashion.
