Role Description

The Electrical Engineering Supervisor is a management position that will focus on the development and management of an internal team within the Electrical Engineering group. They will create an inspiring collaborative team environment with an open communication culture, set clear team and project goals, delegate tasks, and coach/mentor Associates to successfully deliver engineering projects. This position will provide leadership and development to our FORTNA Associates of varying levels of experience and focus on the management of the group’s resource planning and project execution across projects and company initiatives. This role will directly support our electrical project resources and require an understanding of the technical solutions and implementations for a variety of customers.

  • Develop the approach and methodologies for the delivery of projects from the initial concept to implementation and support.
  • Guide the design and documentation of electrical deliverables.
  • Ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Provide inputs to the continuous improvement of the Electrical Engineering department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and/or create a vision of the team in alignment with FORTNA’s vision and goals.
  • Organize and conduct training of team members to maximize their potential.
  • Ensure development of Associates using regular feedback, quarterly performance reviews, and maintaining a skills matrix.
  • Create a pleasant working environment that inspires the team and takes care of the health, safety, and welfare of Associates.
  • Motivate the team to deliver consistent and timely quality deliverables and to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ensure a strong and robust communication process and resolve conflicts.
  • Organize team initiatives by leading team meetings, leading 1:1, and continuously work on team canvas.
  • Involved in the hiring of new talents.
  • Mentor engineers and provide feedback, coaching, and a work development path for your team.
  • Oversee multiple projects in Electrical Engineering.
  • Assess and review FORTNA’s current processes and tools within the team and implement improvements to streamline the engineering process and tools.
  • Oversee developments in department standards and documentation to improve the quality and efficiency of the Electrical Engineering group.
  • Constantly work to expand knowledge of industry best practices and the latest technology for the whole team.
  • Assist department directives and follow KPIs representing the success of the team.
  • Resource planning of the team.

Skills and Duties

  • Facilitating and supporting Application Engineers during the project transition from Mechanical Design through Solution Development.
  • Facilitating and supporting Application Engineers while engaged in Solution Implementation efforts.
  • Leading and supporting Application Engineers for multiple projects through the Integrated Detail Design.
  • Facilitating and supporting Application Engineers during project meetings as required by project cadence.
  • Producing meeting agendas and providing meeting minutes to team members.
  • Maintaining and tracking project schedules to ensure all interdepartmental deliverables are provided.
  • Facilitating and supporting Application Engineers maintaining and tracking project budgets.
  • Attending Client meetings as required.
  • Facilitating and supporting PFSD development.
  • Facilitating and supporting Application Engineers for conducting site visits to determine and validate field dimensions.
  • Utilizing AutoCAD for drawings.
  • Continuously working to solve Client needs.
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment.
  • Proactively seeking work to maintain project and departmental utilization.

Qualifications

  • 4 year engineering degree from an accredited college with 4-7 years of relevant experience, or 2 year degree from an accredited college with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with and manage multiple suppliers.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team and support high levels of performance.
  • Strong management and advanced collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal communication).
  • Extensive experience working with MS Project and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in standard design of relevant material handling equipment for position.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD with at least 3 years practical experience.
  • Flexible and approachable.
  • Ability to self-motivate.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally approximately 25% of the time.

Desired Qualifications

  • 4 year engineering degree from an accredited college.
  • 4+ years consulting, operations and/or distribution experience in supply chain logistics.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Project management experience.

Salary Information

The base salary range for this role is $100,700 to $151,100. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
