Role Description

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) is seeking a new Editor-in-Chief who understands the impact that a high-quality open access journal can have on improving knowledge and practice in the pharmaceutical sciences and with a strategic vision to build the next chapter of the journal.

  • Be the ambassador of RPS Pharmacy and Pharmacology Reports (RPSPPR) in the pharmacy, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, and microbiology communities.
  • Have full independent responsibility for the Journal’s content and strategy, with support from the appointed Editorial Board and teams at RPS and the publishing partner Oxford University Press.

Qualifications

  • An excellent scientific track record in pharmaceutical sciences research with broad research interests in line with the scope of RPSPPR.
  • An excellent international network amongst pharmacology/pharmaceutics communities.
  • Strong commitment to the success of RPSPPR as well as the RPS’s Mission to put pharmacy at the forefront of healthcare.
  • A strong interest in journal publishing and can dedicate time to editorial duties.

Requirements

  • Estimated 4-6 hours per week commitment.
  • Vision statement outlining your editorial policy and vision for RPSPPR.
  • COI declaration form.

  • Contract: 3-year term (renewable twice, maximum term of 9 years).
