[Hiring] Domestic Field Investigator @Sedgwick

Role Description

We have a new opportunity for a Domestic Field Investigator to join our Fraud team at Sedgwick. Home Investigations is an integral part of Sedgwick, providing our internal and external clients with fraud management. We do not adopt a one size fits all approach but deliver a cost-effective defence against fraud through:

• Screening
• Conversation management
• Field investigations
• Fraud management consultancy

The role will be to investigate a portfolio of Home claims that have been identified as potentially fraudulent. You’ll be responsible for:

• Managing your own case load
• Carrying out necessary investigations and field visits
• Gathering evidence
• Maintaining constant contact with policy holders
• Taking accurate statements and records
• Completing price enquiries
• Negotiating settlements
• Communicating repudiations
• Issuing reports to insurers

You will also be in contact with third parties such as credit reference agencies and the police. An essential part of this role will be to keep abreast of current legislation and codes of practice as they relate to insurance investigations.

Qualifications

• A comprehensive understanding of insurance claims handling and principles
• Knowledge of civil and criminal law as they relate to insurance
• Incident management processes
• Ideally ACII/cert CILA or relevant CILEx qualification
• Previous experience in a Fraud Investigations role with an Insurer, Loss Adjuster, or similar Investigation Practice
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and email
• Exceptional telephone manner and excellent written communication skills
• A customer-focused approach and extensive organisational skills
• Ability to take a neutral judgement
• Ability to work with the minimum of supervision
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across regions when necessary
• Ability to work supportively with other team members
