Role Description

As the Director, Procurement & Vendor Management, you lead HCP's procurement and vendor management function within Information Systems, driving strategic technology sourcing, vendor partnerships, and operational efficiency across the organization. You establish and execute procurement strategies that optimize technology investments, strengthen vendor relationships, and enable the business to scale effectively while maintaining strong governance, security, and compliance standards.

• Oversee the end-to-end technology procurement lifecycle, including vendor selection, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, purchasing approvals, vendor performance, and renewal management.
• Partner closely with Information Systems, Security, Legal, Finance, and cross-functional business leaders to evaluate technology needs and identify opportunities for vendor consolidation.
• Bring a data-driven approach to vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, and technology usage forecasting.
• Develop scalable procurement processes, systems, and governance frameworks that improve technology visibility and reduce vendor-related risk.
• Influence stakeholders across the organization and establish accountability for technology purchasing decisions.
• Serve as a trusted partner to technical and business leaders, translating complex vendor and technology decisions into actionable recommendations.

• Develop and execute technology procurement and vendor management strategies.
• Lead strategic sourcing, vendor evaluations, and competitive selection processes across various technology domains.
• Direct complex vendor negotiations, ensuring solutions meet technical, operational, and business requirements.
• Establish and oversee technology procurement policies and purchasing workflows.
• Evaluate technology purchasing decisions and provide leadership with recommendations.
• Oversee vendor contract lifecycle management.
• Partner with Information Systems and cross-functional leaders to assess technology utilization and drive opportunities for vendor consolidation.
• Collaborate with Information Systems, Security, and Legal to establish vendor governance standards.
• Drive the evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of procurement platforms.
• Cultivate strategic relationships with key technology vendors and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management, including at least 3 years negotiating technology, SaaS, or services contracts.
• Experience negotiating multi-year software agreements and renewals.
• Experience managing purchase order processes and working with a spend management platform or ERP system.
• Experience reviewing contracts and partnering with Legal on renewal, liability, data protection, and termination terms.
• Experience at a fast-growing company, including establishing procurement processes.
• Proven experience driving team efficiency or output quality through the strategic use of AI tools and automation.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with contract lifecycle management tools, spend management platforms, and vendor pricing benchmarks preferred.
• Experience with FinOps principles or procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM) preferred.
