[Hiring] Director of Estimating @MasTec Inc

Role Description

The Director of Estimating reports to the Senior Director of Estimating and will be responsible for estimates within their Service Line. The Director of Estimating is responsible for assisting the Sr Director of Estimating to oversee the company’s estimating function. In this role, the Director helps develop policies and procedures related to the bid process and manages the process to gain final approval for submission of bids and proposals. Manages a portion of the estimating staff to ensure that bids are created, reviewed, and closed out in a timely manner. The Director of Estimating works closely with the Operations Directors to ensure that operational needs are included in the bid approach. Expected travel is between 25% – 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering or another related field or equivalent education and experience
• 10-15 years estimating experience, with supervisory experience
• Experienced leading estimating teams in the successful pursuit and capture of large-scale EPC power generation projects
• Demonstrated expertise in developing EPC estimates, evaluating execution strategies, assessing commercial and contractual risk, and supporting proposal development for utility, industrial, and merchant power generation clients
• Previous experience in project management preferred but not required

Requirements

• Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
• Prior use of InEight Estimate preferred, but not required
• Proficient in Salesforce, Viewpoint and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations
• Write reports, business correspondence and document project activities
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers and the general public
• Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
